Statistics Clinic

About

The Statistics Clinic is a platform for bridging the gap between researchers and statisticians. The Statistics Clinic aims to offer statistical advice to the broader research community within and outside of Symbiosis International (Deemed University) on the matters of research methodology, analytics and policy advocacy.

Eligibility

Everyone who has some research project and problem statement in hand are welcome to visit the Statistics Clinic. The Statistics Clinic is open for all eligible individuals regardless of their statistical skills.  This is open to wider community from industry as well as members of the academic circle such as:

  • Faculty Members
  • Research Staff
  • Research Scholars
  • Post Doctorates
  • Industry experts

If you are one of the aforementioned and in need of statistical advice then come and visit us.

Note: UG and PG students requiring help with their projects are encouraged to use and take advantage of our StatsBuddy initiatives and SankhyaBodha platform. For more details, please visit our website ssi.edu.in or write to us on info@ssi.edu.in .

How to participate

Participation in the Statistics Clinic depends on prior appointment. Please fill up the form at the end of this page or reach out to us at statisticsclinic@ssi.edu.in for the same. Upon registration you will be asked to attend first meeting online to discuss the project, its scope and expectations.

The participants are expected to have the following items prepared before the first meeting:

  • A brief summary/abstract of the project
  • A list of questions to be tackled during the meeting
  • Expectations from the collaboration

Note: We wish to keep the threshold of number of participants at a given point of time as low as possible for involved details discussion. Consultation meetings should not exceed a maximum of 30 minutes. It is encouraged to bring your own laptop to show your data/scripts/analysis etc.

Our expected outcome

We trust that our statistical advice and services will help you make progress in your proposed or ongoing research. Further, we also hope that sometimes our discussion might evolve around the topic and may look forward to scientific collaboration. We also expect that based on our contribution, authorship or in many cases an acknowledgement of our contribution in publication/Patent will be encouraged. We will also be very interested in discussing potential academic collaborations and possible joint scientific projects where there is role for us. In case a collaboration is required, then we will have separate MoU or agreement as per the guidelines by Symbiosis International (Deemed University).
